nookncranny's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- queens in various stages okay, first i know. i've been a little overwrought. it's just, this damn chrysalis has been a thicker monster than i ever dreamed to tear through; and i didn't have all these lines around my eyes when i started. and of course, being the sappy girl i am, i couldn't just rip out without thought. i had to leave an artistic image from my scraps... but the truth is i'm feeling really alive and less apologetic than ever. looks like i shall remain splendidly, ever overwrought. ---------------------- saturday i took little bee horseback riding for the first time. stephanie was our guide. she galloped up all soaked from taking her horse for a swim. dumped the water out of worn leather lace ups and put them back on without socks. as she walked little bee around, she talked openly about being born in africa to missionary parents and how they can't go back. she is trapped here with her depth and her rich history, the smell of spices still in her nose. and she's drowning in a lake of adolescents who travel only as far as walmart for new cosmetics. we ate blackberries, swollen with the suns heat. i walked behind miss stephanie and little bee; and i wished till my heart stung that they could see how regal they looked from my angle. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
