nookncranny's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- you know that thing... where you suddenly hear yourself using a certain word or phrase frequently? for me, it's been the phrase "down to earth." i know i used to hear it a lot as a kid; but recently it's boomeranged back into my speech. i think i must be trying to alert myself to what i've come to treasure, to what i want from the people with whom i may keep any substantial amount of company. it's not a charming phrase. it doesn't woo. but i find myself loving the sense of relief, of freedom to not be careful, that accompanies. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
